Background

Women’s distinctive strengths provide them with many advantages. Yet internal barriers can also hold them back. Drawing from her international best-seller, How Women Rise, co-authored with Marshall Goldsmith, Sally will identify the 12 habits most likely to get in the way as women seek to move to a higher level. She will share simple practices that can help women be more intentional in building careers that make the most of their talents while supporting other women along the way. She will show how women can clearly articulate their strengths in a way that serves them, their teams and their organizations. Sally’s program is also helpful for individuals of all genders, seeking to be more effective allies, champions, mentors and supporters for aspiring and talented women.

Sally will reinforce this program with insights and practices from her forthcoming book, Rising Together, which is aimed at helping men and women identify the triggers that can hold them back from working effectively together and outline specific inclusive practices that can address these triggers. The book will be published in February 2023.

Here are some of our participants’ feedback from the Women’s Leadership Advancement Program delivered by Sally Helgesen on 26-27 July 2022

The session was well organised, engaging, and as impactful as a face-to-face program; 6 hours seems to fly so fast. I really treasure the experience and insights shared by the other participants that was useful for me to apply. I enjoyed the session and appreciated that Sally made it interactive using targeted questions, interactive exercises and real-life examples that resonate and inspire. After the training, I have a better understanding of my individual strengths & challenges, and how to address these challenges based on the actionable template/tips shared by Sally. Thank you, Sally for your wisdom, experiences, and insights

Senior Vice President, Stakeholder Relations and Management
Khazanah Nasional Berhad - sovereign wealth fund of the Government of Malaysia

Over the years, I had various opportunities to learn about behaviours which would impact or hinder the effectiveness of communication. This course made a lot of sense of everything that I had learnt in bits and pieces. It also solidified some of the habits which I had been working on and now I have a more complete and systematic picture of what works. Sally was very professional, experienced and was able to answer questions from the audience with conviction. It is never easy to conduct a virtual event, and what I thought worked really well was the breakout sessions which I truly benefitted from.

Legal Director, Compliance, Asia Pacific
PVH Asia Ltd (China)

This was a truly insightful session. It helped me to focus on me and what I was potentially doing wrong to jeopardise my own leadership step-up opportunities and improve sooner rather than later. It also gave me assurance that I have indeed grown as a leader over the last years without knowing I have put in place steps to break-away from routine and step into the unknown and embrace change which has grown me as a potential leader. Sally helps bring to life the issues and approach to self-betterment so that I can achieve my vision and personal 5 year plan KPIs. Great organized event!

Manager, Claims Litigation

To my surprise, what Sally said is exactly what is happening to me. She is like a close colleague who is working with me and observing me. And I have learnt that all these “problems” are not unique to me, but applicable to all female leaders. In this program, both Sally and the participants shared their own experiences and recommendations on action. Practicing even one or two will definitely be helpful!

Fantastic program content in empowering women in their leadership journey. Great insights and sharing on the topic. Helped us realize how we undermine our own achievement without realizing, being a perfectionist and having the “pleasing others” syndrome hindering our development. Easy to understand contents and real-life experiences sharing resonates well to us!

General Manager, Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger

I’ve attended many programs suggesting skill-building, this one was different & thought-provoking on what skills/behaviours are coming in the way of career progression. Highly recommended for soul-searching people. Very sound and insightful, loved Sally’s examples she shared on cluster of habits most likely to hold women back.

Participant feedback from Dave & Wendy’s Employee Well-Being and Mental Health program on 20-21 April 2022:

This 2-day program is awesome. The concept of employee experience drives business results AND mental health & well-being drives employee experience stick in my head as I reviewed our HR strategy to address future of workforce. The list of 17 practices that HR can do to permeate mental health / employee experience was extremely practical and useful. Dave and Wendy complemented each other well.
